Description
- Balanced composition with special radiance
- Günter Fruhtrunk is one of the most influential representatives of geometric abstraction
- The works from the early 1970s are icons of Concrete Art

Günter Fruhtrunk's works from the early 1970s are icons of Concrete Art. "Untitled" from 1974 is a charming example of this mature creative period of the artist in a small format. Fruhtrunk had long since abandoned the distinction between form and pictorial ground. Diagonally arranged strips of color of different widths are overlapped on all sides by the edge of the picture and structure the picture surface, which as a whole follows a dynamic movement from bottom right to top left. The individual picture elements do not dominate each other, the color stripes are clearly separated from each other. Everything follows a clear, non-hierarchical structure of order, rhythm and direction. Günter Fruhtrunk succeeds in creating a balanced overall composition with compact radiance.
