Description
On the reverse, on a label, an old handwritten inscription is inscribed: ‘From the estate of Grand Duchess Marie of Tuscany, née Princess of Saxony, or Princess Luitpold of Bavaria, née Princess of Tuscany. / Must be the portrait of one of King John of Saxony’s daughters, probably Sidonie, born 1834, or Anna, born 1836.’ The princess depicted is Anna Maria of Saxony (1836–1859). She is the daughter of King John of Saxony and Amalie Auguste of Bavaria.
