A very fine impression of the first state, with the faintly-etched obelisk over the head of the man at the right still clearly visible; printing with delicate plate tone, strong contrasts and fine burr in places. With narrow margins around the platemark. – A vertical, carefully closed tear along the upper edge. The upper third reinforced on the reverse. A tiny paper thinning on the reverse. A few faint brown spots. Otherwise in good condition.
