This postcard was written by Max Pechstein in 1950 to the artist Sergej Peters (1916–1974), who used the pseudonym Peter Stephan.
The text reads: "My dear Sergej, Unfortunately I am not at all well; I have had a severe thrombosis since August, yet I am very pleased to be able to thank you for your good wishes, which I return in the best possible way. All the best for 1951. Yours, Maxe".
