Description
Between 1908 and 1912, Wilhelm Trübner painted a whole series of views of Lake Starnberg. These were created from various vantage points, including a viewpoint in Niederpöcking. In this particular work, the large, imposing fir trees have been moved to the centre of the composition, whilst the yellow-orange bush at the left-hand edge of the picture provides a striking contrast to the dark green of the trees. Trübner echoes this fresh tone in the individual flower beds in front of the path. Today, the park belongs to the Hotel La Villa and, just as in the past, it offers a delightful summer view of the lake beyond.
