A very fine, crisp and early impression of the first state, with rough and inky plate edges and still before the diagonal scratch appearing to the right of the man's left knee. Trimmed to the platemark, in the upper margin right and in the right margin minimally within. – Numbering in brown ink in the lower right corner. A tiny backed tear in the upper right corner. Verso slightly time-stained in four places, otherwise in good condition.
