From the series: Los proverbios. With the inscription and a wide margin. One of four additional copies, first printed posthumously by François Liénard in 1877 and published in the magazine L'Art. The illustration was published under the title ‘Una reina de circo’. Only a few condition proofs and some posthumous trial proofs exist. Minor paper defects, verso with remnants of former mounting and recto in the upper margin, otherwise in good condition.
