Description
With written statements by James Byam Shaw, London, dated 10 March 1989, by George Knox, Vancouver, dated 9 April 1989 and by Bernard Aikema, Nijmegen, dated 7 June 1989, all in the original. While Shaw attributes the drawings to Pietro Antonio Novelli (1729-1804), Knox and Aikema favour the authorship of Count Francesco Algarotti, a well-known "amateur" and patron of Giovanni Battista Tiepolo. - Each irregularly trimmed around the motif. Isolated minor time stained and with slight signs of handling, otherwise in good condition.
