Öl auf Leinwand, aufgezogen auf Karton. (Um 1835/40). 16,6 x 22,7 cm. Verso beschriftet „aus dem Nachlass Gille/Nr. 16“ sowie auf altem Etikett mit dem Namen und den Lebensdaten des Künstlers. Gerahmt.
Description
This oil study can be attributed to the artist's early Dresden period. Gille undoubtedly studied the motif in the neighbourhood of Dresden. It is most likely a distant view of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains from a vantage point to the south or of the Borsberg hills near Pillnitz.
