Dr Walther Bernt, who attributed the landscape to Jan Wouwerman, relied on comparable works by the artist in the Rheinisches Museum Bonn and the Staatliches Museum Schwerin. The painting is now listed in the RKD image database in The Hague under the number 199333 as "possibly Jan van Aken". With a photo expertise by Dr Walther Bernt, Munich, dated 20.11.1962 (in the original).
