Description
Picasso drew this three-colour portrait for the poster of his exhibition ‘Un demi-siècle de livres illustrés’ at the Galerie Matarasso in Nice. He worked with lithographic chalk on three zinc plates, one plate per colour. As a result of the printing on the offset press, the image and date do not appear mirror-inverted, as would be the case with a lithographic print. In addition to the 500-copy print run of the poster with text, this 100-copy edition appears without the exhibition text.
