Description
This double-sided sheet impressively shows Ernst Ludwig Kirchner's artistic development, bringing together two of his most important creative periods: the expressive Fehmarn phase of 1913, which was still characterised by the "Brücke" movement, and the later, more analytical and formal style of his Davos period. These two work phases are united on one sheet and form an exciting juxtaposition of the early, emotional immediacy and the mature formal invention characterised by inner calm.
