Description
Marianne Baroness Eschenburg is the niece of Carl von Blaas, with whom she takes lessons. She studies painting in Paris under Emile Auguste Carolus-Duran, Henri Martin and Elisa Koch. From 1880 onwards, she worked as a portrait painter and was a co-founder of the earliest feminist association in Austria, the Association of Women Writers and Artists (1885), and the group ‘Eight Women Artists’ (1901).
