Description
The portrait shows the approximately 4-year-old son of the Berlin art historian Dr Johannes Sievers (1880-1969), who was a friend of Slevogt and co-authored the catalogue raisonné of Max Slevogt's prints.

On the back of the painting is a child's drawing depicting Slevogt's wife, Nini, with their children Nina and Wolfgang Slevogt.

With a photographic expertise by Hans-Jürgen Imiela dated 2 September 1995 (copy).

We would like to thank Dr. Karoline Feulner, Mainz, for her kind assistance in cataloguing this work.
