A fine impression of the second state (of three), with the number, printing sharply and with good contrasts, with light wiping marks and inky plate edges in places. Wide margins. The Adoration of the Magi is Giovanni Battista Tiepolo's largest etching, it is related to a smaller drawing by the artist in pen and brown wash over pencil at the Cantor Arts Center, Stanford University. The original copperplate still exists at the Museo Correr in Venice. In 1775 this print was added by Giandomenico to the 23 Scherzi di Fantasia. – With a dark brown stain in the right lower margin. The lower edge with a creased fold mark. Verso traces and remnants of a former mounting. Verso at the right edge with faint paper rubbing, otherwise in good condition.
